Another List, Lads and Ladies

type='html'>

I know, I know.  I just posted a wishlist last week...but as always when I decide to finally make a purchase for myself -- I second guess spending the money and want to double check and make sure I've picked what I really want the most.  Also, like every time I decide to finally make a purchase off my wishlist -- half of the items I wanted in last week's post are no longer available in my size.  Go figure.  I've got to just start making rash purchases sometime (I suppose I should be glad that's my problem, haha).  Soooooo here are the additions to my wishlist from last week.  So hard to choose!!!  I wouldn't mind a little help again :)

"Moth-Like Stars Were Flickering"

type='html'>

 Happiest of Fridays to you all!!!  It's finally the end of this bloody long week!!!

There are so many, many things I want to talk about today...first of all, a shout out to my new followers <3  You have all been so sweeeeeeeeeeet as sugar and just as much fun as spice.  It's been just a delight getting to know you, reading your blogs, and seeing your comments on my posts :)  Keep coming back!  I love making friends and your input has really helped me develop my style very much.  You're awesome, in a word (or two)!!!

And secondly, check out the bling, ladies and gents. I'm really figuring out this accessories thing, I think.  I'm wearing a bunch of mixed bracelets from Old Navy and H&M, an INPINK ring, and a F21 ring.  My current fav is that gorgeous rhinestone number with the rows of brown, gold, and cream crystals...sooooooo pretty :)  Now, I would be stacking on a whole lot more rings, but I just can't seem to find ones my ring/pointer fingers because they're so dad-gum small (they had to custom make my wedding ring in a size 4.25 lol) -- any tips???

As for the third item on today's "hooray it's Friday, I'm just happy about everything" list...40s-style tea dress!!!  In hot pink!!!  With peplum!!! I scored this as a total fluke my first time setting (proverbial) foot on ASOS's website.  It was in the 70% off clearance, plus they offer free shipping always...so I took a risk.  Turned out to be one of the best purchases of my life -- gorgeous seaming/pleating on the skirt, beautiful gathers and sweetheart detailing on the bodice, darling buttons down the neck, and a sash that you can tie back or front.  I'm in love with every inch of this beaut.

What's making you happy today???

Seeing Double

type='html'>

This post is a total double entendre.  You will, in fact, be seeing just about as many doubles as you could get -- two lovely bloggers, two days' worth of photos, two hours of fun, two different weekend outfits, two cute brunette haircuts, two bracelets on one arm...okay, I'm running out of really good pairs. You get the idea.

P.s. Check out the flippin' adorable floral bow headband I got this weekend from Swaychic!!!

So for that first double...the highlight of this weekend for me was definitely my first blogger meet up...with Miss Lori of A Little Slice of Special :)  She has been one of my favourite bloggers for quite some time now, and quite fortunately lives only minutes away.  I asked Lori to join me at an awesome local coffee shop called J. Arthur's that makes amazing artisan, organic drinks using local products...she came in the most adorable little blue Mini Cooper, and wearing the snazziest pair of J. Crew sparkly shorts that she just thrifted for a steal.  Lori and I ended up sitting outside in the glorious sunshine for just over two hours (did you catch that?) just chatting up a storm!!!

Lori and I covered everything from Ryan Gosling and pitbulls to gall bladder surgery and almond milk.  Lori is soooooooooo easy to talk to and refreshingly genuine.  She made me feel free to share a lot about my life, so hopefully I didn't scare her away!!!  I was just so happy to discover that she's just as amazing and honest in real life as she is on her blog -- her openness and sincerity were what first drew me to A Little Slice of Special, and it's what made our outing such a blast.  I was nervous going in, not gonna lie...but she put me so at my ease that I felt like we were old friends in no time at all.  She must not have minded me too too much, since she extended the sweetest invitation to my man and I.  Sauerkraut pizza and board game night, here we come :)

And of course, gotta close the post with another couple doubles.  This is the outfit I wore on day two of my weekend, just for a trip to the grocery store and some quality time with my man.  I love this ASOS cotton tee because it's light and easy to throw on with jeans, but has these amazing 1940s details :)  And check those double bracelets.  Watch this girl accessorize!

"While Seagulls Wheel"

type='html'>

They don't call Minnesota the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" for no reason...well, maybe they don't have a very good reason since it's actually more like 11,842...but hey, I'm no good at math either.  Just a few days ago, Drayton (that's my own handsome man, for those of you who are new readers!) and I had the opportunity to spend a few weekend hours at a popular nearby lake.  I have to admit it's not a favourite of mine since I've seen the beautiful, clear, crisply blue lakes that are further up north...and this one is sort of a sludgy, city park greeny-brown.  But you know, any day that gives you breezy sunshine and gorgeous fluffies in the sky is only improved by a watery expanse of any kind (well, except puddles).

Scored these moccasins at Target.  One of the best purchases of my life, since I now spend my days wearing cushy leather slippers that only cost me $7.  Didn't do too bad on this vintage Chinese silk scarf either...$3 at Goodwill :)

I've always loved shadow shots like these...me and the man friend have a couple really fun ones from dates we've been on...you know, the ones where your shadows are holding hands (or kissing, hehe).

Aaaaaaaaand here's a picture of the most handsome man in the world!!!  I don't know about you, but I find strong jawlines and broad chests very attractive...mostly because that's exactly what my sweetheart has :)  It's been really nice spending more time with this man lately -- he works a lot of night shifts and I work days, but we've really made it a point lately to have no (or few) weekend plans so that we get to spend those days together.  Both of us have just been eating up that time, reading books together or watching movies and old TV shows or going on walks and fast food dinner dates.  After all, what's more important than nourishing your mutual connections and understanding???  We're committed for life, no matter what, so we've gotta keep getting to know each other more and more and loving each other better an better -- definitely NOT a bad thing :)

I am quite proud of how this fountain shot turned out...look at the amazing colour of the sky and those gorgeous white fluffies!  And the water droplets were just misting everywhere in the breeze as you can see.  Soooooo refreshing and pretty on a sunny hot day, not to mention that anything artistic like that fountain sculpture just feeds my soul!!!  Drayton, art, and a lot of water -- all my favourite things :)  I could have sat there for the whole weekend and just enjoyed the beauty.

And here we are by the fountain together, being all romantical and everything.  Excuse the squints, please, it was a sunny day...

Hello, Dah-ling: House of Maryanne

type='html'>

I'm not as a general rule very good with inspirational posts -- I'm the first to admit that I'm not AT ALL tech savvy (I can't even figure out photoshop basics) so those pretty little mood boards and style conglomerations won't appear unless I can mock something up quickly on Polyvore, lol.

But I just couldn't resist sharing these gorgeous inspirational photos taken by Lauren Bamford, from one of the best vintage shops I've seen online, House of Maryanne. They truly are some of the most beautiful vintage shots I've seen around for a long time, I am just loving every garment House of Maryanne has to offer...if I wear their clothes, can I look this amazing???

Hope you enjoyed!!!

"The Inland Sea"

type='html'>

I'm just going to get this off my chest right away...these photos are from three months ago. The moral of today's post is that a drastic change in hair style really keeps you an honest blogger.

My excuse is simply that my camera deleted the photos I took of my outfits over the weekend--GRRR TECHNOLOGY.  I'm in a week long classroom session for the big federal licensing exam I have to take, and therefore not finding time to take new pics...so here you go for now.

In one sense, however, these photos are very much "current"...I'm obsessed with animal prints right now and wearing them in some form almost every day.  Just wait til you see the Dalmatian print dress I found last week at H&M...I feel a little guilty (too much 101 Dalmatians, I feel like Cruella DeVille) wearing that baby.  But it sure is gorgeous.

OOOOOOH yeah...and that's a belt tied around my neck.

And of course an excuse to wear my fab shoes from Oasap!!!

"Walking in the Soft Rain"

type='html'>

Let me just give a shout-out to Swaychic for this amazing skirt!!!  The kind ladies over there sent me a gorgeous skirt a couple weeks ago, and I'm finally getting to post the pics (grrr internet/camera black hole last week).  I've been wearing the skirt over and over...it's such a striking print, it pairs well with black or bright colours.  And every time I wear it, I feel like I have a different skirt on because I can cinch the sides up or down so many different ways :)

For these photos, I chose to pair the black with a nice, tawny leather...thought the high sandals and beaded necklace kept it feminine, but the belt with the pouch plays up that safari feel.  Plus, I lovepairing brown and black together!!!  I couldn't decide whether to style it like I'm travelling Africa or urban chic, so it kinda ended up being neither!  I guess that's pretty much me...I just go with whatever I'm feeling regardless of actual style trends, haha.

And yes...I'm still doing a great job piling on those bracelets and rings.  Those little shell ones and the braided tan leather are my newest contributions to the Make Cambria's Arm Pretty campaign.  I think I'm going to be really good at this by the end of the year.

GIVEAWAY: A'Muse Me Boutique

type='html'>

 It's just about time for me to...offer you a giveaway, oh dear blogging friends!!!

A'muse Me Boutique is offering you the chance to win an absolutely darling surprise gift
(hint, it just might make your neckline festive this Autumn!)....

Just to tempt you into this contest, I thought I'd show you the gorgeous little gift that A'muse Me Boutique sent to me -- this foxy and fabulous emerald green clutch.  I've heard (and seen) that this particular shade of green is one of the "it" colours this season, and couldn't be happier.  I just love these jewel tone shades, esp as accent colours to a more demure ensemble.  In fact, that's just what I've done here -- paired my snazzy hand candy with a white and black outfit just to make it pop :)

I appreciate this clutch in particular because it's sturdy enough and big enough to handle quite the load...I could easily fit a book in there along with the normal contents of my purse.  Which, if you know me at all, means that this clutch passed the ultimate test.  I can't go anywhere without books, and have had the hardest time finding handbags that will carry them!

Not to mention, that beautiful shade of green and the pretty texture of the material make this another great accessory for my little ol' accessorizing Cambria project :)  Doesn't it look pretty with these sparkly rings and bracelets?  I subtly threw pink tones on my wrist and hand -- since I'm carrying a green purse, those colours will really accentuate each other.  This I learned in high school art class...

To Enter the Giveaway...

Mandatory for Entry:
1. Like A'Muse Me Boutique on Facebook.
2. Follow Jupe via GFC.
3. Comment with the phrase "jupefashion.blogspot.com" anywhere on A'Muse Me Boutique's Facebook wall (or on their link to this review)...and you will be entered to win!!!

Best luck to all!!!

**P.s. isn't this peplum amazing?! Another score from ASOS...it buttons all the way down the back and has the perkiest little ruffles at the hip.  Go back and do a double-take if you missed the deets at first glance...they're really lovely!!!
