Being a true Minnesotan by birth and at heart, I thought of the winter months looming ahead, and opted for something I've always wanted as part of my wardrobe...a professor's jacket! Ok...a tweed blazer. But these plaid-ish, houndstooth, tweed-y sort of ones with the elbow patches always make me think of a highly intelligent British type who smokes pipes and drinks Scotch while writing genuis thesis papers in his Cambridge or Oxford library of glory. Unrealistic, yes. My secret life dream...also yes :)
I also picked a long-time closet lust for my second item...a romper! I was a little scared about this one, since I've always been hesitant about showing this much leg (there's a reason you've never seen me in shorts!)--to be honest, I think my fears came true and my legs look fat enough to feed a bear going into hibernation. But that's not the romper's fault, haha! It's still fun to finally have a vintage-y little romper, as they are darling and have so much potential for styling--sophisticated or playful, summer or winter, casual or dressed up. I think it's going to be fun playing with this one when I can slenderize my legs with tights this winter...it's got the most gorgeous little pleated waist and pretty burgundy colour.
